Overview:
A simplified way to mount your Exposure Trace light to Framesandgear computer mounts. This adapter is designed to neaten up the front end of your bike by reducing the frontal silhouette and keeping the weight low.
Design:
We designed the part to closely to match the silhouette of the Framesandgear out-front mount, following it’s distinctive lollipop profile and tapering the base to follow the mount’s curves.
Unlike our Roval / Specialized offering, which uses a top-and-bottom mounting configuration, the left-right 20mm mounting layout of the Framesandgear system proved far more challenging and became the trickiest aspect of the design process. To retain access to the mounting points, we ultimately opted to bore out sections of the part around the fixing holes.
While this may sound like a straightforward solution, we explored at least five different design variations before arriving at the final version, which offered the best balance of strength, usability, and clean form. The process also required us to adapt our standardised C-clip design to reinforce the thinner sections created by the revised mounting layout.
