Overview:
A cool way to mount your Exposure TraceR or Boost-R light directly onto the rear mudguard/fender of your bike. The pictures say it all!
An earlier version of this design even made its way into a Cycling News build article! Thanks Will.
Design:
The design uses the same C-Clip system as our other models, positioned at a 60° angle from the rear axle to ensure sufficient clearance for riders using a rear rack. A TPU spacer is included to improve compatibility and give a cleaner finish
Compatibility:
This part is designed to be compatible with most mudguards. As long as the mudguard is adequately strong, it should fit. It works with both metal and plastic mudguards, though you may need different-length screws and appropriate drilling tools for each.
Use the guide below to determine which spacer you’ll need.
The mount is secured with a single M5 bolt. You’ll need to drill a 5-5.5 mm hole in your mudguard, as this serves as the sole mounting point.
Bolt length is critical. When the bolt is inserted through the mudguard, 8-12 mm should be exposed . Anything longer than 12 mm may interfere with the light, and anything less than 8 mm will not engage the nylon nut securely. We use a nylon nut to prevent the mount from coming loose.
To accommodate a wide range of mudguard profiles, we offer four optional shims. These help the mount conform more securely to the curvature of your mudguard. The shims range from Small to Large, plus a Flat option; these sizes refer to the radius of the mudguard curve.
